Third Space /shifting conversations about contemporary art
Birmingham Museum of Art
January 28, 2017 - January 6, 2019
Third Space is the first large-scale exhibition of contemporary art from the Birmingham Museum of Art’s collection. The exhibition explored the parallels between the geographical boundaries of the American South and the Global South. Both regions similarly represent marginalized people and places and share a common post-colonial heritage, similar patterns of migration, and other cultural connections.
Third Space /shifting conversations about contemporary art is curated by Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Hugh Kaul Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art.
